Emirates
Group IT (EGIT) is the IT department of Emirates Group. Main focus of EGIT is
developing software’s required in Emirates Airlines. Beside developing
software’s for Emirates Airlines, the company provide different software’s
for more than 40 international airlines.
The
project in which I am involved is Direct Operation Cost System. DOC project
is a SOA application used to report actual cost of a flight. About 40 people
are working in this project and 2 years development time was estimated for
the project. We are working on .Net framework 2.0 and backend database is
Oracle 10g. In this project I am responsible for developing functional
design, unit test plan, technical design and validating the codes which are
implemented by developers (Code review).

The company is working on
custom software development and provides solution mainly using Microsoft’s
technologies. The company is focused on different kind of applications
including Desktop applications, Web applications, Enterprise applications, Access
Control applications (using RFID and image processing) and applications for
GPS. I was one of cofounder of the company. In the company I was Manager of
developers’ team and also member of development team which was responsible to
develop applications. Primary choice
of development language in company used to be C# but sometimes VB.net was
also used. We seldom needed to use C++ to implement some low level
programming as needed. We had have started working in mobile platforms 3
months before I quit and were working on some mobile applications that work
on MS .Net Compact Framework 2.0.
